I build agentic AI for banks and spend most of my time working alongside them to get it into production. That is the heart of a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, and it is what I have done as a founder at Avido for the last few years.

Avido helps banks test and monitor the AI they put in front of customers, and the platform we built is a system of AI agents. They synthesise test cases from a customer’s own data, simulate real conversations against the customer’s AI, and grade the answers against the customer’s policies and the regulation that applies to them. Keeping those agents reliable once they are in production is most of my work. Alongside it I built the AI Core, a conversational engine that connects to a bank’s own systems through MCP, so I have worked on both the agents and the platform that evaluates and monitors them.

My work has gone into banks like Sydbank and ABN AMRO. Running there means meeting the bar they expect, from a SOC 2 penetration test that came back with zero findings to the rate limiting that kept us inside one bank’s AI gateway in their private cloud. Avido is built around the EU AI Act, so testing and documenting AI for a regulated setting is the daily job rather than an afterthought. The harder part is rarely the technology though. Most of the work is translating what a business actually needs into something an AI team will trust and adopt, and a lot of my time goes into building the tools and the case that bring people along.

I have done this inside a bank before. At Lunar I helped start their AI work and took a range of it into production, from customer support that handles most cases today to KYC and adverse media screening.

The lead part of the role fits how I already work. I onboarded Avido’s engineers and run regular knowledge-sharing sessions on building and evaluating AI agents, and I get more out of bringing other people along than guarding the work myself. I live in Hedehusene, so Copenhagen is a short train ride away, and I would be glad to talk about how I can help.
